Westland is renowned for its (greenhouse) horticulture. We are proud of our knowledge of vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants. Knowledge we share with the entire world. By combining all the knowledge and strength of Westland, we can collectively ensure that Westland continues to stand out on the global stage. Over the next 15 years, we are building something special: the area around the World Horti Center in Naaldwijk will become the vibrant hub for research, entrepreneurship, education, and collaboration in greenhouse horticulture — Flora Campus Westland.
Over the coming years, in the area surrounding the World Horti Center, we will be developing Flora Campus Westland.
The beating heart of research, entrepreneurship, education, and community.
Westland’s strength lies in its knowledge and expertise in greenhouse horticulture.
Not only are vegetables, fruit, flowers, and plants shipped around the world, our knowledge is too.
We aim to preserve and strengthen this valuable asset.
Soon, entrepreneurs will gather at Flora Campus Westland.
To work together on solving challenges in greenhouse horticulture and creating a healthy living environment.
They will collaborate with students and researchers. In addition to MBO Westland, there will be an ISW Vakcollege+, offering practical and pre-vocational secondary education.
College and university students will also take part in innovative projects.
Flora Campus Westland will be an inspiring environment.
Home to the Greenhouse for the Future, where new inventions and sustainable solutions will be developed.
The scale of the area also allows us to address the housing shortage. We will build homes for starters, seniors, and migrant workers.
All within a beautiful, green park landscape with water features.
